Value system
If I could create a value system for releasing music that moves away from traditional metrics like fame, monetization, and sales, I might find a bit more happiness. I need to feel freer in this aspect, and then consider my next steps.
Ryuichi Sakamoto
I’ve been feeling down ever since Ryuichi Sakamoto passed away. His music has always been a natural part of my life, like the air I breathe, since I was a teenager. So when I heard about his death from a friend, all I could think was, “Ah, finally.” Because his music lives on.
When I visited his solo exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, it was so crowded that I couldn’t even see the exhibits and had to leave without experiencing them. However, it ultimately didn’t matter to me. I just felt a sense of contempt for the Japanese people, who seemed to make a fuss only when someone died.
Packs
After reinstalling macOS, I also had to re-download the Logic Pro sound library. There are so many packs that I’m a bit overwhelmed and unsure where to start.
Star
Perhaps music is a world where I can’t survive unless I become a certain kind of star. It’s painful to be the only one remaining unknown while all my friends become famous. In that sense, I gave up on music. That’s precisely why I need to become freer.
